The loud and crazy football-loving girl that I am
Hi, I’m Raquel. That’s me below.
I love football. Even more than football, I love the Seahawks. I lived in Seattle for 15 years (from the ages of 5 to 20) before I moved to Austin, TX. I started watching football the year the Seahawks made it to the Super Bowl (2006) and got robbed of the trophy. I will always be a die-hard Seahawks fan, but I am learning in Texas that I need to support teams here or else I will get harassed by a lot of die-hard Cowboys and Rangers fans. So I decided I want to broaden my knowledge of sports in general. Even though I know a lot about football, I don’t know a lot about other sports such as basketball or baseball.
This blog is to educate girls like me (who are considered girly, in a sense) of different sports: the rules of the game, how to get involved, and how to have fun even when you don’t understand the game. I hope this blog enlightens many girls and changes their minds about sports; that sports are not all that difficult to understand and that they can even be fun to watch. And hopefully I come around to sports other than football in the process. 🙂
Here are a few pictures of games I have been to (and greatly enjoyed).
Safeco Field in Seattle, WA for a Mariners game.
Ichiro Suzuki (formerly Seattle Mariners), who is now on the New York Yankees.
And last but definitely not least, my beloved Seahawks (against the New England Patriots in this game).
